Elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata has announced the donation of N1.5 billion to cushion the current hardship faced by victims who are taking refuge at various camps in Borno State following the Maiduguri flood disaster.
Dantata made the announcements when he led the delegation from Kano to the Government House in Maiduguri on Tuesday.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum, the government and the people of Borno State, especially those who lost their beloved ones following the recent flood that ravaged Maiduguri.
Ninety-six (96) years old Dantata, who lamented the deterioration of the economy in the country, urged the elites and political leaders to repent and fear Allah in their dealings.
He also prayed for the peace and harmony of the Borno State and Nigeria at large.
Responding, Governor Zulum expressed heartfelt gratitude for the elder statesman's compassionate visit, acknowledging that it serves as a powerful beacon of hope and solidarity during these trying times.
“The people of Borno deeply appreciate this show of humanity by a 96 years old to visit us. Let me say it, our Baba has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to support the flood victims. May Allah bless and reward you with Aljannah. ‘Mu gode, Baba'!,” Zulum remarked.
