FE-TV Hub New York has formed a strategic partnership with the organiser of Mr & Miss Nigeria International pageant,Brendance and Crusaders LTD (BCL), to make Nigeria a global fashion content hub.
In a statement signed by the management, FE-TV HUB CEO, Bob Cal, said the organisation will leverage its knowhow to “creating engaging content that resonates with audiences, on trending fashion topics or their impact” for its fashion segments on television.
More importantly, it intends to produce the first fashion-themed reality shows in and across the country.
In that regard, the American noted that they had already begun in Lagos with the state's fashion entertainment reality show, The Next Big Thing, with a cast of all-star producers and industry veterans.
He expressed confidence that the mission would not only be a success in Nigeria but also overseas.
“For me, having partnered with Brendance and Crusaders LTD, the vision to make Nigeria a global fashion content hub is highly possible.
Nigeria has robust entertainment and fashion industries with the potential to carve out a huge space for itself globally. In fact, I know Nigeria fashion and Nollywood will have a huge global presence and I want to be the first on the movement.
“Combining entertainment and fashion in the Nigerian market makes absolute sense. Not only will fashion-themed reality television be successful in Africa, but it will resonate overseas.”
Explaining what fashion means to him and why the brand was in Nigeria, Cal said: “Fashion is dynamic, and continues to evolve. Today, fashion has expanded into a form of entertainment; a spectacle of modelling, celebrities and theatrical events that can be consumed for enjoyment.
I am bringing the idea that fashion is a form of entertainment to Nigeria through television, by creating the first fashion-themed reality shows in the country. For a country that loves fashion and entertainment so much, it seems like a perfect fit.”
He noted that the brand's outlook is global in nature and “will be taking FETV HUB to China this summer; and I'm in negotiations to activate the brand in India, Brazil and Dubai.”
