Chief Edwin Clark, an elder statesman and former Federal Commissioner for Information has called for the creation of a disciplinary committee to look into the perceived anti-party activities of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and other individuals whose roles contributed to the People's Democratic Party's (PDP) loss in the 2023 general elections.
Clark who spoke on Wednesday in a statement made available to New Telegraph accused Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), of being PDP's biggest opponent, manipulating with the intention to destroy it.

The South-South leader, however, demanded that the current National Working Committee (NWC) of the main opposition party be dissolved immediately.
Clark said, “I know that many people who read this article will say to themselves that they thought Chief Edwin Clark said he has retired from active and partisan politics.
“Yes, I said I have resigned from partisan and active politics. But it was one of the famous philosophers Aristotle, who said “Man is by nature a political animal.”
He further narrated that because no human can flourish on their own, there is a natural tendency of man to partner with their fellow men.”
