The governor said there was tension before the ascension of the late Olubadan which was later resolved, stressing that any issue emanating to the ascension to the Olubadan stool would be resolved without any rancour.

He said the Olubadan-in-Council is yet to send an official letter to the state government on its decision on who is to ascend the throne, stressing that it is after the nomination by the council that he will approve or not approve who ascends the throne.

He said the government would make the best decision in the interest of Ibadan land and Oyo State when the Olubadan-in-Council finally made the nomination.

Makinde who felicitated Muslims in the state on Eid-El-Fitr, called on them to maintain discipline as this was what Ramadan represents.

He said  the Ramadan period was a time to deny one's body of pleasure and worldly satisfaction in honour of Allah, adding that Muslim faithful had complete their fast due to discipline and enjoined them to uphold the virtue in all spheres of their lives.

Makinde said, “I use this opportunity to greet Muslim brothers and sisters and to wish all of us happy Eid-el-Fitr celebration, one of the lessons of the Ramadan is discipline, because for that 30 days, we disciplined our body, even though our body may be seeking for food but we say no we have to discipline the body.”
